After graduating from the University of Oregon in 1999 with a degree in linguistics, I received a scholarship to study Thai at Chiang Mai University, and have remained in Thailand ever since. My images have been published in magazines, newspapers, books and websites including Allas Veckotidning, appetite, Bangkok Post, www.bbc.com, Chile Pepper, CNNGo, DestinAsian, Food & Travel, Gastro, Insight Guides, Intermezzo, Lonely Planet Magazine, lifestyle + travel, Mad og Bolig, The Nation, Olive, Orient-Express, Saveur, Sawasdee, SilkWinds, SilverKris, ThaiDay, www.time.com, Travel + Leisure Southeast Asia, The Wall Street Journal Asia and the Washington Post.

In 2008 I held an exhibition titled "The Last Chinatown" at Bangkok's Kathmandu Photo Gallery.

In 2012 I'll begin work on a book project, to be published by Ten Speed Press, of recipes from the Portland, Oregon restaurant, Pok Pok.

I write for Lonely Planet and have contributed text and photos to more than 20 guidebooks.
