A vast battered and deep-fried chicken breast fillet topped with a zesty tomato sauce, a thin slice of ham and rich, white, rubbery cheeze, accompanied by French fries, a salad and a Mountain Goat Pale Ale

Food-related hint: The above dish, a vast flattened, bread crumb-battered deep-fried chicken breast, subsequently baked with a zesty tomato sauce, a thin slice of ham and rich, white, rubbery cheeze, and in this case, accompanied by French fries, a salad and a Mountain Goat Pale Ale, is considered ancient traditional fare by the natives of the country I’m currently visiting.

Where am I?

Without Googling, I’d say New Zealand?

melbourne, australia

Austin, have you visitied any east Asian countries such as Japan and Korea?

Based on the beer, I’m going to say Australia.

I’d say you’re dining in one of the many good gastro pubs in Melbourne, Australia….MG Pale Ale is a tasty light drop and the dish looks delicious !

Beer is a give away where you are although we don’t have it here in NSW. The mixed leaves look Australian.

Melbourne. Parmas are the go here, as are microbrewery beer :P

Like those before me, you must be in Melbourne (based on beer selection).

If that’s right, then Ginger Boy and Lau’s Family Kitchen ought to be on your agenda for mid-range pricing.

Let me get even more specific with my guess:

The Napier in Fitzroy? Looks like the Napier’s chicken parm…

Sorry to be so late; yep, I’m in Melbourne — the beer was a giveaway. And kangarool, very impressed; I didn’t eat that chicken parma at the Napier, but was actually there boozing this very night, well done!

Have any Australians warned you about drop bears yet? (;-)

yeah, are Longrain and Gingerboy on your to-dine list?
They do Thai food… very loosely speaking. I’d like to hear your opinion on those places, and may be compare Ying Thai 2 and/or Lemongrass Thai in Carlton.
