Dan: Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. Would love to--the Philippines is one of the few places in SE Asia I've yet to visit.

Mei: You win!

Simon: Obviously I'm not English--but I did see this particular item on more than one menu. Perhaps it's due to the fact that there was really only one menu that each restaurant had copied?

"The English, with their Full English Breakfast (coffee or tea, baked beans, toast, fried bacon, fried eggs, fried cheese and fried mushrooms) seemed to dominate this area."

Austin - a Full English Breakfast contains many wonderful things, but fried cheese it most certainly does not! Love your blogs.

Loved your "Backpacker Cuisine" piece on lp.com, Austin -- very accurate and very funny. Great stuff all around. Give a shout if you're planning on being in Manila anytime over the next five weeks, by the way -- I'd love to buy you a beer!
